Artist
Damien is from Adnyamathanha country. He grew up in Quorn and Nepabunna, South Australia, and is very connected to his heritage and culture. Damien bases his works around creation stories of his country in the Flinders Ranges, reflecting his own experiences of the landscape and people.
Damien is a high school teacher, the coordinator for the South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy, a football player as well as a part time personal trainer. Damien also sits on the South Australian Native Title Board which puts him directly in touch with local Aboriginal communities working on land rights. He is the co-founder of Warndu, whose products use native Australian plants and seeds to create sustainable products.
