Artist
Marc Newton was born in Port Lincoln in 1962. He studied a Bachelor of Education at the South Australian College of Advanced Education from 1979-1983 specialising in Art and Design teaching. He has worked at Scotch College since he graduated in 1983 and has been the Head of the Visual & Applied Arts Faculty at Scotch since 2011. He has taught Art, Design, Photography, Digital Art and Fashion.
He has worked privately as a designer, photographer and digital artist. He started painting in the late 1970s working in water colour and explored oil pastel and oil paint over the next twenty years. In the past 5 years he has worked in acrylic paint and mixed media. Marc and his wife Josephine ran a small art gallery in Goodwood called the Citadel Exhibition Space from 2004-2010.
